Join us for our annual fundraising walk on Saturday, April 1, 2023 in the heart of downtown Modesto. 

Walk with us to support survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking in Stanislaus County.  This is a family friendly event and a great way to start your Saturday morning!   Teams are encouraged to peer-to-peer fundraise and walk together.  Gather your friends and co-workers and support HAVEN!  

In Their Shoes is a family friendly walk previously known as Walk A Mile where hundreds of men walk a mile in red heels to show support for victims of sexual assault and how we can stand together as a community to make a difference.

Walk with us, in any shoe of your choice! 

If you plan to decorate your own shoes, basic converse sneakers are available from Amazon in women's and men's sizes.  

In Their Shoes is inclusive of all genders and non-gendered survivors of sexual assault. We support ALL survivors regardless of age, gender identity, sexual orientation or other diversity. Anyone may walk with or without high heels to represent who they are and/or a survivor they may know. 

Once again, our post walk gathering will be hosted by Greens on Tenth. 

A few things to keep in mind:

We have worked diligently through these challenging times to adapt and maintain our standard of  delivering the highest degree of care to our clients, staff and volunteers.    

• No “Day of” registration.  All walkers must register by 3/15/2023 to be guaranteed an event t-shirt
• LAST DAY TO REGISTER IS SUNDAY 3/26/2023 after this date you may will join us on our walk and donate here but you will not receive the t-shirt or goodie bag.  
• Early  goodie bag pick up. All walkers will be given a day / time to pick up their goodie bag the week prior (we will work with your schedule!)  We will not be bringing goodie bags to the event. 
• DECORATE YOUR SHOE: This year you have the option to Bring Your Own Shoes and decorate it in such a way that represents you and or the survivor you are walking for. We will have a few prizes for the Best in Show. You may also select to walk in a Commemorative Red Heel when you register.
• COVID 19:  On the day of the event, HAVEN will follow whatever guidelines are in place from the County and State. 
• Team Ticket:  We LOVE teams and the excitement they bring!  However the different tickets have caused some confusion in the past. This year, there is no separate team ticket and the price is the same for all registrants. When you purchase your ticket, you will be prompted to create / join a team if that is how you prefer to walk. 

We rely on your support

All proceeds from this event support the critical services provided by HAVEN. We serve over 2,500 individuals impacted by domestic or sexual abuse or exploitation annually. More than 300 of those served are under the age of 18. These survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking are steadily increasing each year, and we need your help.
